Spider-Man 2 Gameplay

Spider-Man 2 is an action game based on "Spider-Man 2" movie released by Treyarch and published by Activision in 2004. Although, PC-version has been developed by another team and has nothing to do with the console versions, was heavily criticized.

For some reason instead the original game PC owners got a completely different game. It has a simplified mechanics and a rather weak plot; it is definitely not the case when “different” means "better." You will encounter such foes as Mysterio, Puma, Rhino and, of course, Dr. Octopus. The rest of the game you only prevent bank robbers and other thugs.

The gameplay in Spider-Man 2 is overly simplistic. It has controls just like any standard third-person action for the PC. But unlike other versions of Spider-Man 2, where you can jump around the city freely, here you can swing only from and to specified locations. Free roaming around the town - one of the best features of other versions of the game. Here, it is just some kind of a joke.

Bosses are basically stupid. And before every fight there is a pop-up thoroughly explaining what you need to do to win the battle. This and general gameplay with a single click can lead to the idea that this game was designed for really small children. Also it’s very short, no more than five to six hours of real time.

Why they haven’t made a good PC version of Spider-Man 2 – will remain a mystery. Who decided to do a completely different and apparently mediocre version of the game specifically for users of Windows? We may never know the answers to these questions, but whether or not waste your time playing this version of the game, the answer is a definite - no.
