ArenaNet released a trailer showing the development of the Guild Wars 2 story so far.

It also presents the main villain - Scarlet Briar. She created a plan which will change the world of Tyria forever. This storyline lasts for almost one year and a half, and will be finished by January 21, 2014.
As a part of this story developers will release 4 more updates with new but shorter stories.
